3 Ways PSPO 1 changed me as a Product Manager
An honest review of the Agile Mindset
For the longest time in my work life, I don’t know the Scrum Framework all too well! I was literally given a table-top sketch of the entire scrum framework by my Scrum Master, one month into my first job, for a whopping 15 minutes. And that’s it! That was the entire depth and breadth of my Agile and Scrum training.
With that, I set out to conquer the product world! 🤦🏽♀️
Luckily for me, that was all I needed for that team and that company. Once I moved to a different company, I was failing as a Product Manager. Each time there was a conflict in the ways of working with my team, the team would just blame it on doing Scrum the wrong way. I would have loved to course-correct but I didn’t know what Scrum done right looked like!
So I decided to take the plunge and do the Professional Scrum Product Owner 1 certification that is offered by Scrum.org. The website recommended taking a two-day trainings, which I also enrolled for.
Based on all the discussions and confusions at work, I was quite skeptical of how much I would learn about Scrum or Agile in 2 6-hour classes. But it was definitely better than groping in the dark.
